i had a trip to Singapore recently, which was actually quite a lengthy trip with many flights ending well past the 24 hour mark of total travel time….and what kind of friend would i be if i didn’t put together some fun comic style documentation for you from key junctions in the trip?

i ain’t afraid of no host!

I have moved this site over to a new host very recently!

long story short – i spent a huge amount of time upgrading my website the last month or so…mostly behind the scenes work, but several changes upfront also.

No word of a lie, the day after i finished, my hosting company had a crash, and lost all of my work..followed by my website being down for close to two weeks. this helped me realize that i needed a better hosting company…and i found one.

A Small Orange is my new host as of a week or so ago, and I cannot recommend them enough!! Their customer service is incredible, prices are great, and my site is SO much faster now (from my tests anyway). Let me know how you like the changes!

I also have a swanky new newsletter system with beautiful newsletter emails!! sign up via the email funclub form on the right, or by going to the new subscription page!

…now to get back on schedule with the comics, and maybe sleep once in a while!

Pacific Rim Rejected Poster Ideas

News from beyond the grave!!

Hi folks,

Ok first off, I’m not dead…neither is this site, nor are my bad comics, and silly drawings. I have been extremely busy with many things, but still drawing, painting and all of that usual stuff more or less non stop, and have been updating in many places on the Internet yet not updating the site…sorry about that. If you click on the “drawings” link on the top bar of the site you will find all sorts of new goodies 🙂

Calgary expo 2013
A VERY belated, but very sincere thank you to everyone that came out, stopped by, said hi, picked up books and just generally made the expo great – thank you so much, you are the reason I go to expo, even on as little sleep as I had this last time haha.

random musings
I am also hoping to upgrade my site in the near future to allow easier updating when I am on the road, which has been frequently lately. Anyway, stay tuned for more comics and art coming soon.

Calgary Expo – booth 1124

Check…1…2…3….. is this thing on?

Hi folks,

There haven’t been any updates for a little bit as I have been overly swamped with real life duties, AND getting not one but TWO new books put together in time for the coming Calgary Expo (no, i’m not done yet…cross your fingers for me).

Speaking of Calgary Expo here is some info for you!

Important things to know about the upcoming Calgary Expo:

1. It is for 3 days at the end of April.

2. I will be there (sorry). (‘dorkboy comics’)

3. I am hoping GOING to have two new books:
(1) Kernel Corn & Peater the Black Eyed Pea collection

(2) a followup to ‘well, this is awkward’ collecting sketches, paintings comics etc

4. I am planning on not sleeping. (See item )

5. I will make prints again, so if there are any specific drawings of mine you like and want in print form let me know and I will do my best to make them. They will be charming prints…or is that the other way around?

6. Bring a stick to poke me if I look sleepy/ am asleep.

7. This isn’t the zoo, DO feed the cartoonists.

8. I will try and update details again before the show, but back to posting drawings until then.

Sketchcrawl and drawings of my lunch?

Last weekend was Sketchcrawl!

I went out and drew one of the churches in part of Calgary known as Bridgeland as part of this latest Sketchcrawl(see below).

As well, to try and squeeze in some fun almost daily artwork I started doing tiny ink and watercolour drawings of my lunch (with a bit of a twist of course). It also gave me more opportunity to practice writing Hiragana (Japanese).

where’s the comics, what’s going on, etc, etc??

Sorry for the radio silence this past month…I have continued to draw paint and so on, just haven’t had anything that really fit the “comic” category.

I have also been teaching myself to read and write Japanese with some wonderful books by the fine folks at YesJapan.com called “Japanese from Zero”.

I have been making some ink and watercolour drawings out around town as well as at home so here are some for your enjoyment.
